Key details
The Fitzgibbon Priority Development Area (PDA) has been developed into a residential community that includes significant bushland area and open space, while being close to transport networks.
It covers 295 hectares in the northern suburbs of Fitzgibbon, Carseldine, Bald Hills, Taigum and Deagon.
It is located 12 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD.
The Fitzgibbon PDA was declared on 25 July 2008.
Development scheme
The development scheme is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling land development within the PDA.
The Fitzgibbon PDA Development Scheme commenced in July 2009 and was subsequently amended on 29 July 2011.

Development assessment
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) assesses development applications for this PDA.
All development applications are assessed against the development scheme.
Infrastructure
Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs and is outlined in the Infrastructure Funding Framework.
Development project
The Carseldine Urban Village renewal was announced on 9 October 2016, as part of the Queensland Government’s Advancing our cities and regions strategy.
