Description	Greenfield open-cut thermal and metallurgical coal mine with a yield of up to 16 million tonnes of product coal per annum for approximately 37 years.
Proponent	Valeria Coal Holdings Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore Coal Pty Ltd.
Location/s	Approximately 27 km north-west of Emerald.

Investment	$1.5 billion

20 December 2022	Coordinated project declaration cancelled by the Coordinator-General.
6 December 2022	Valeria Coal Holdings Pty Ltd requested to withdraw the project from the coordinated project assessment process.
27 August 2022 to 21 October 2022	Draft terms of reference ( 675KB) for EIS public consultation.
June 2020 to August 2022	Preparation of the draft terms of reference has been pending proponent's project refinements ( 9.7MB).
14 January 2022	Commonwealth Minister for the Environment decided the project is a ‘controlled action’. The Valeria Project comprises of: mine site, on-site construction workers accommodation camp and mine access road communications infrastructure from the Gregory Highway to the mine site water supply pipeline infrastructure from the mine site to the Oaky Creek Coal Mine rail line from the mine site to the Aurizon Goonyella Coal Chain powerline infrastructure from the mine site to the Ergon powerline
12 June 2020	Gazettal ( 245 KB) of ‘Coordinated project’ declaration.
30 April 2020	Application, including initial advice statement ( 12.6 MB), submitted.
