The establishment and expansion of Hacker/Maker spaces is an important initiative within our Advanced Manufacturing Roadmap and Action Plan.
Hackerspaces are informal places where people meet to share their interest in technology, work on individual or shared projects, and learn from one another.
Our Queensland Hackerspace Grant Program provides funding to groups and organisations wanting to establish a new hackerspace or expand an already established hackerspace in their community.
Applications for Round 2 of the Queensland Hackerspaces Grant program closed at 5 pm (AEST), Friday 8 November 2019.
In Round 1, a total of ten hackerspaces across the state each received a share of $170,000 in funding.
