The role of women in manufacturing is showcased through Women in Manufacturing (WiM), a series of networking-style breakfast seminars.

Designed to highlight the importance of mentoring the next generation of women in the manufacturing industry and establish supportive networks, the WiM series is a key initiative of the Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan (PDF icon 1.5 MB).

Each seminar consists of a panel of three prominent women from the manufacturing industry discussing topics such as the evolution of manufacturing, the importance of women as active participants in the industry for its growing success, and how to encourage and support new entrants into this important sector.

The seminars are aimed at women working in the manufacturing industry and female science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students, however, entry is open to women and men.

The last Women in Manufacturing event for the year will be held in Mackay on 27 November 2018.
