The Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct (GCHKP) sits within the Parklands Priority Development Area (PDA).
The Parklands PDA was declared to facilitate development of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Village and legacy development.
This development will complement the Gold Coast University Hospital, the Gold Coast Private Hospital and Griffith University.
It adjoins the Gold Coast University Hospital, the Southport Sharks Football Club and Musgrave Park.
It covers approximately 29 hectares and is 3 kilometres from Southport CBD and 3.6 kilometres east of the Pacific Motorway.
The PDA was declared on 1 February 2013.
The development scheme is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling land development within the PDA.
The Parklands PDA Development Scheme commenced on 6 December 2013.
